After being accepted at Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), registration is the final step before you officially become a student. Missing the registration window means you lose your place, even if you were accepted.
TUT registration happens entirely online. There’s no walk-in option at any stage of the process. Before you start, have your student number, ID or passport number, PIN, and confirmation of your fee payment or bursary status on hand, since the system will ask for all of them along the way.

Documents Needed for Registration
- Original and certified copy of your ID document.
- Your acceptance letter from TUT.
- Proof of payment of registration fees, or confirmation of NSFAS funding.
- Any required bursary award letters (submit written proof to Student Finance if funded by government, private, or other sponsors).
- For NSFAS students requiring accommodation: confirmation of placement in a TUT-managed or TUT-accredited residence.
How to Register Online (iEnabler Portal)
Step 1: Log In to iEnabler
Access the portal at ienabler.tut.ac.za using your student number and PIN.
Step 2: Confirm Your Financial Status
- NSFAS students: If you applied directly to NSFAS before the closing date (15 December 2025) for 2026 funding, you may register without paying the upfront registration fee, once NSFAS confirms your funding.
- Non-NSFAS students: Pay your registration fee via direct bank deposit, EFT, or online credit card payment, using your student number as reference.
- Bursary/sponsor-funded students: Submit written proof of your 2026 funding to Student Finance.
Step 3: Resolve Any Historic Debt
If you have outstanding debt from a previous year, this must be settled or an acceptable payment arrangement made before registration is permitted. This applies to NSFAS students too, if their historic debt was not settled in prior years.
Step 4: Select Your Modules
Navigate to the registration section on iEnabler and select the modules/subjects for your qualification year.
Step 5: Activate Transport (If Needed)
If you plan to use the TUT bus transport service, complete the online application form. NSFAS students in TUT-managed accommodation should not complete this form, since transport is already included.
Step 6: Submit Registration
Finalise your registration through the portal. Your registration details, registered modules, and any outstanding requirements will then be visible on your iEnabler dashboard.
Step 7: Attend Orientation & Collect Your Student Card
After registering, attend orientation sessions and collect your student card as instructed by your faculty.
What Happens If You Miss the Registration Deadline?
- Registration windows are strictly enforced each semester.
- Students who do not register in time may lose their place and need to reapply for the next available intake.
- NSFAS students who do not finalise accommodation by 28 February 2026 risk losing their NSFAS accommodation allowance eligibility for that period.
